ALAEA K'AMŌ • Red Dirt Camouflage

Kauai's signature red dirt, formed by volcanoes millions of years ago, contains the powerful element iron, a key mineral sustaining human health and our diverse ecosystems. In society, "red dirt" has been used to describe people living in poor communities. To honor the Hawaiian Homestead of Anahola, the largest population of Native Hawaiians living on the island of Kauai, with rich "red dirt" soil and where founder and designer Etienne Aurelius grew up, we've incorporated this earthy red tone into this camouflage pattern. Anyone who wears this pattern participates in his mission to do whatever others think is impossible, regardless of circumstance, challenging conventional thinking.
